Taank Optometrists Through The Mayor’s Eyes

On Saturday 20th October 2012, Taank Optometrists–with the support of Mayor Councillor Sheila Stuart–helped raise nearly £400 for the World Sight Day Challenge.

World Sight Day is a charity that Taank Optometrists has supported for four years. There are 600 million people in the world who are blind or vision impaired and 19 million of those are children. The amount raised on the day will go towards helping provide 140 people with an eye examination and a pair of spectacles.

After her eye examination with Anjana Taank, the Mayor declared “I would like to congratulate Taank Optometrists on their involvement with the charity over the past four years. We tend to take our eye sight for granted, but I know how different my childhood would have been had I not had the right sort of eye care to correct my vision, and I really enjoyed my experience at Taank Optometrists today.”

We admire the continuous work done by the Optometry Giving Sight Fund and are proud to support such a worthwhile cause.
