The World’s Most Precise Eye Test: Rodenstock DNEye® Scanner

We’re delighted to announce that Taank has purchased Rodenstock’s new high-precision DNEye® Scanner, which will be used during every eye exam. This revolutionary scanner is the first to generate over 7,000 data points (instead of the standard four biometric values) to map each eye with absolute precision.

Every eye, like every person, is unique

Most standard tests do a great job, but to date, it’s been impossible to create prescriptions tailored exactly to each eye. Recognizing that no two eyes are the same, Rodenstock’s DNEye® Scanner measures thousands of data points in each eye, including length, pupil size, and their reactions to varying light conditions, far exceeding industry standards.

That information translates to more than 80 key parameters and an exact biometric model of each eye. Next, we apply the data to Rodenstock’s Biometric Intelligent Glasses (B.I.G. Vision®) to create custom lenses that give you the sharpest vision possible. It’s a big deal.

Safer, sharper vision for night driving

Helping you stay safe while driving, particularly in bad weather and low light, is integral to getting your lens prescription exactly right. Minimizing glare—from sunlight or oncoming traffic—and maximizing your spatial vision and ability to change focus rapidly reduces your chances of an accident. By using our new DNEye® Scanner to get you the most accurate prescription possible and pairing it with Rodenstock’s biometric lenses, you enjoy the sharpest vision possible, bar none.

Supporting the eye-brain relationship

The technology behind Rodenstock’s DNEye® Scanner and its range of Biometric Intelligent Glasses starts with understanding that you don’t see with your eyes–you see with your brain.

Your vision depends on two subsystems: focus vision and peripheral vision, which work in harmony with your brain. Peripheral vision is responsible for helping you navigate your surroundings and detect motion. When your peripheral vision notices something of interest, your focus vision hones in on it to gather more information that may prompt action.

Your eyes move up to 250,000 times a day. The continuous movement requires lenses that support this harmonious interplay between focus and peripheral vision. Assessing each individual eye with our new scanner to create an accurate biometric eye model is the starting point for lenses that significantly improve your visual experience, addressing your visual sensitivity and supporting your brain.

Personalized eye care and custom lenses

The benefits of using the DNEye® Scanner for assessing the unique measurements of your eyes include:
