Specialist Eyecare in Cambridge
With over two decades of experience with a range of eye health issues you can trust us to give you an accurate diagnosis and appropriate advice about treatment. Head Optometrist, Anjana Taank, also provides specialist glaucoma services at Addenbrooke’s Hospital.
Glaucoma Referral Refinement Scheme
We’ve been running the Glaucoma Referral Refinement Scheme in partnership with Addenbrooke’s Hospital for four years. Patients with suspected glaucoma are primarily reviewed at our practice using state of the art equipment before referral to the hospital. This way, an in-depth glaucoma assessment can take place within a reassuring, easy to access community setting.
Glaucoma, the second most common cause of blindness in the UK, has no symptoms in the early stages so can go undiagnosed for years. Regular eye exams pick up on the first signs of this life changing condition so that it can be treated and stabilised.
Dry Eye Assessment
Dry Eye is a chronic condition caused by an insufficient volume of tears. It results in blurred vision, discomfort, and can damage the surface of the eye. After your exam, we’ll suggest an appropriate treatment that may include artificial tear drops, supplements, or holistic eye care and eyelid hygiene. If you’re experiencing dry eye issues, get in touch and book an appointment.
Independent Prescribing
Taank Optometrists is one of the few practices in Cambridge approved to not only clinically assess patients, diagnose and determine treatment, but also prescribe medication for optical conditions on-site.
